Member Protection Information Officer

The new Member Protection Information Officer (MPIO) training has arrived!

We are pleased to share that the new Member Protection Information Officer (MPIO) training is now available!

The Part 1 Online course has been redesigned so that it’s shorter, easier to navigate, and only has to be completed once; there is no longer a requirement to complete the course every two years to maintain certification.

The Part 2 workshop has new material introduced so that MPIOs can leave the training with a better understanding of the new Integrity Standards in Australian sport, including the National Integrity Framework.

New resources that support the work of MPIOs and their clubs are available on the Play by the Rules website, including templates, posters, guides, and social media assets.

I’ve already done MPIO training, should I do it again?
We’d recommend completing the new MPIO Part 1 online course, even if you’ve previously completed the old version. The online course has all new material, and once you complete the online course you won’t have to do it again to keep your certification (unlike the old version which expired every two years).

Will the online course still be free?
All eLearning on Sport Integrity Australia’s eLearning hub will remain free for all users.

Will the MPIO Part 2 workshop be free?
The cost of the Part 2 workshop is determined by the state or territory government hosting the workshop. Please contact your state or territory Office for Sport for pricing and availability – contact information is available on the MPIO training calendar page

Will my existing badges be removed?
No, you will still be able to view your current and expired badges in the Sport Integrity Australia eLearning website (select ‘download certificate’ and then ‘view my badges’). Your old MPIO course badge will expire two years after the completion date (e.g. July 2025 if you completed it in July 2023).

Thank you for supporting inclusive, safe, and fair sport.
