Each year, Football Victoria Geelong invites Expressions of Interest from talented players across the region to be part of the Geelong Representative Program — an esteemed, development-focused pathway designed to challenge and support our most committed young footballers.
From 2026 onwards, the Representative Program will operate as a full-year program spanning 38 weeks, running from February through to October. Following a structured selection process, players will be placed into representative squads that focus on long-term development, performance, and representative-level experiences.
Teams will train fortnightly across the season and compete in three major tournaments, providing players with regular opportunities to test their skills against high-level opposition from across Victoria. This extended format allows for consistent coaching, stronger team cohesion, and meaningful development over the course of the year.
Coach development is also a key pillar of the program, with coaches receiving ongoing education and support to ensure best-practice training environments and positive player outcomes.
The Geelong Representative Program has traditionally competed in the FV Country Championships and in recent years has expanded to include additional tournaments such as the Western United Cup, Mt Eliza Cup, and Shepparton Cup. This expanded tournament exposure will continue and grow into future seasons.
From 2026, FV Geelong will field teams across the U10 to U16 age groups for both boys and girls, further strengthening our representative pathway.
This program is designed for players who are motivated, committed, and ready to embrace a high-quality development environment while proudly representing the Geelong region.

FV Country Championships
The FV Country Championships (“Country Champs”) is an annual Junior tournament first established in 1978 by the Country Leagues Football Association (CLFA). It is now managed by Football Victoria. The Country Champs attracts both male and female regional representative players aged 10 years to 17 years old, coaches, officials and spectators over 3 days of competition, to determine and crown State Champions.
The Event takes place each year in June on the King’s Birthday long weekend.
Each year Geelong competes against teams from from all over Regional Victoria including Geelong, Bendigo, Shepparton, Moama-Echuca, Albury/Wodonga, Gippsland, Goulburn, Latrobe Valley, Swan Hill, South West Victoria and Sunraysia.
