Football Victoria has officially launched the Level the Playing Field Parliamentary Petition, giving clubs, participants and the wider football community the opportunity to have their voice heard directly in the Victorian Parliament.
Parliamentary petitions are formal requests asking Parliament to take action on important issues. This petition highlights the rapid growth of football across Victoria — and the increasing gap between participation demand and available facilities.
As the game continues to expand, many clubs are facing challenges with limited infrastructure, meaning too many players risk missing out. The Level the Playing Field petition aims to drive a coordinated, statewide response that aligns government investment with Football Victoria’s Facilities Strategy 2025–2035.
If successful, the petition will support:
- Increased investment into community football facilities
- Safer, more inclusive and female-friendly environments
- Greater capacity for clubs to welcome more players
- Stronger long-term growth of football across Victoria
The petition has launched with bipartisan support from members of the Parliamentary Friends of Football group, highlighting the importance of football within Victorian communities.
