Football Victoria Geelong is pleased to welcome a C Licence Coaching Course to Geelong this October, providing local coaches with the opportunity to continue their development without having to travel outside the region.
Hosted by North Geelong Warriors, the course will be delivered across two weekends – Saturday 17 and Sunday 18 October, and Saturday 24 and Sunday 25 October, from 9.00am to 5.00pm each day.
Football Victoria Geelong has been working to bring further coach education opportunities to our region, and we’re excited to finally have the C Licence available locally. We encourage clubs and coaches across Geelong to get behind the course and help ensure opportunities like this continue to be offered in our region.
Who is the C Licence for?
The C Licence is aimed at coaches working with advanced beginner to competent level players, generally aged 12 years and above.
It provides a logical progression from the Foundations of Football Certificate, exploring key coaching concepts in greater detail.
Throughout the course, participants will develop their knowledge across four key areas:
- Technical Factors – teaching the fundamentals of passing, receiving, dribbling and finishing, along with defensive techniques.
- Principles of Play – developing an understanding of the principles of play and how to coach them effectively.
- Coaching Process – exploring and implementing the coaching process, with a particular focus on educating the player on the ball around the techniques of the game.
- Session Design – using the 5 R’s principle for effective session design and understanding the importance of a clear and concise session objective.

Participants are required to attend all four days to complete the course. Failure to attend the full course will result in registration being removed.
Prerequisites and Online Learning
Coaches must have completed the Foundations of Football Course before undertaking the C Licence.
After registering through the Football Australia Learning Centre, participants must also complete the required online modules before the commencement of the in-person course.
