Even the fierce winds couldn’t keep the fun at bay on Sunday morning, as Football Geelong’s Chair, Mike McKinstry, welcomed Federal MP for Corangamite, Libby Coker, to the Under 7s and Under 9s hubs at Armstrong Creek and Torquay.
Libby, a long-time supporter of soccer in our region, was blown away (pun intended!) by the sheer scale of the hubs and the incredible growth of the game over the past few years. With around 6,500 players now participating across Greater Geelong—from the Miniroos and Minitillies to adult leagues—it’s clear that soccer fever is sweeping the region.
Despite the stormy winds, the kids had an absolute blast, proving once again that nothing can dampen their love for the game!
