Football Victoria Geelong is proud to reflect on the success of the current All Abilities Football Programs, which have been running across the region in recent weeks.
Following strong interest in the programs earlier this year, two hubs were delivered at:
With the programs now nearing completion, they have once again highlighted the positive impact inclusive football can have within our community.
Building Confidence, Connection and Community
Delivered in partnership with Football Victoria and Leisure Networks, the sessions have focused on creating a welcoming environment where participants can enjoy football, develop skills and build confidence.
Across both locations, participants have embraced the opportunity to:
- Try football in a supportive setting
- Build friendships and social connections
- Develop confidence and independence
- Be part of a club environment
At North Geelong Warriors, the program has been a great example of what inclusive football looks like in action.

All Abilities Coordinator Rob Pehar said the club is committed to ensuring football is accessible for everyone.
“North Geelong Warriors FC is committed to ensuring no child or adult is left on the sidelines.
With adaptable programs, a skilled volunteer base, developing community partnerships and a strong inclusive culture, we are well-positioned to support participants across the full spectrum of abilities.
We welcome collaboration with councils, local schools, health professionals and families to continue growing our inclusive capacity and ensure football is truly for everyone.”
Clubs Embracing Inclusion
At FC Leopold, the program has also been strongly supported, with a focus on creating a welcoming and flexible environment for participants.
All Abilities Coordinator Josh Murray said the club sees inclusion as a key part of its future.
“Football is a game for everyone, everyone should have the chance to have a go.
Our clinic is set up to cater for participants’ individual needs.
In the future, we’d love to establish something more permanent — a program that runs alongside our other teams and includes All Abilities participants as part of our FC Leopold family.”
Growing from Strong Foundations
These current programs build on the success of the initial rollout in late 2025, where more than 60 participants took part across four programs delivered throughout the region.
A key contributor to the program’s development has been Robin Walker from Armstrong United, whose work helped shape the inclusive program model now being delivered across multiple clubs.
Her efforts were recognised at last year’s Victorian Football Gala, where she received the Community Inclusion Award.
Looking Ahead
With the continued success of the 2026 programs, Football Geelong remains committed to expanding All Abilities football and supporting clubs to deliver inclusive opportunities for all participants.
These programs are more than just football — they are about creating a sense of belonging, building confidence and ensuring that everyone has the opportunity to be part of the game.
