A Season to Remember: Surf Coast U13 Girls Shine at Every Level

From Football Geelong Grand Final success to a State CPL title, Surf Coast FC’s Under 13 girls have capped an outstanding 2026 season with achievements across community and representative football.

It has been a season to remember for the Under 13 girls at Surf Coast FC.

Across community and CPL football, the club’s young players have enjoyed success at local, regional and state level, highlighting the strength and depth developing within Surf Coast’s female football pathway.

The achievements culminated with the club’s U13 CPL Girls claiming the State CPL Championship following an impressive 4–1 victory over Manningham United.

The match brought together the South West and South East winners, with Surf Coast earning its place after claiming the U13 CPL South West league title.

It was a fitting way to finish an outstanding CPL campaign.

Across the combined U13, U15 and U17 CPL standings, Surf Coast also finished as South West winners and second overall.

That result brings another exciting opportunity for the club in 2027, with Surf Coast qualifying to compete alongside the other CPL top 12 in the Girls Victorian Youth Premier League 2.

Success across the Football Geelong competitions

The success wasn’t confined to CPL football, with Surf Coast’s Under 13 girls also enjoying an exceptional season in the local Football Geelong competitions.

Surf Coast fielded four Under 13 girls teams in 2026, including three community teams, with all three qualifying for finals.

Two went all the way.

Surf Coast (Drew) produced an impressive performance in the Under 13A Grand Final, defeating Geelong Rangers Blue 5–1 to claim the premiership.

Surf Coast (Scott) also finished the season as champions, recording a 2–0 victory over Geelong Rangers Red in the Under 13C Grand Final.

The club came close to having all three community teams contesting Grand Finals, with its Under 13B side bowing out in extra time in the semi-final.

Two Football Geelong premierships and three community teams reaching finals would have represented an outstanding season on its own.

Combined with the success of the CPL program, it paints an even bigger picture.

Building the next generation

The results across 2026 reflect not only the success of individual teams, but the growing opportunities available for girls to play and develop their football at Surf Coast.

From community competition through to the CPL pathway, a large group of Under 13 girls represented the club across different levels of the game this season.

They finish the year with two Football Geelong premierships, a South West CPL league title, a State CPL Championship and an exciting new challenge awaiting the club in 2027.

Most importantly, the depth across the age group provides a strong foundation for these young players to continue their football journeys in the years ahead.

Congratulations to all of the Surf Coast FC Under 13 girls, their coaches, team managers, volunteers and families on an outstanding 2026 season.
