The City of Greater Geelong is currently reviewing its Fair Play Policy – a key document that sets out how fees and charges are determined for the use of outdoor recreation facilities, including football pitches across the region.
This policy plays a vital role in ensuring that community sport remains fair, accessible, and sustainable for the long term. It aims to create a consistent, transparent approach to how local clubs, associations, and community groups contribute to the cost of using and maintaining the facilities we all rely on.
While the City of Greater Geelong subsidises a significant portion of the costs associated with maintaining outdoor sports venues, contributions from user groups like ours are important to help keep facilities well-maintained, safe, and fit for purpose.
Football Geelong encourages our member clubs, players, volunteers, and the wider football community to take this opportunity to provide feedback on the Draft Fair Play Policy. This is your chance to have input into how future fees are structured and to ensure that the needs of football – one of the fastest growing sports in the region – are properly considered.
