Seven Years of Support
Now in its seventh year, GeelongPort‘s support of the Football Victoria Geelong girls’ representative program continues to make a significant impact on the development of female football across the region.
This year marks a major milestone, with the number of female representative teams doubling compared to 2025. Teams from Under 10 through to Under 16 will proudly wear the GeelongPort logo on the front of their kits as they compete at major tournaments including the Country Championships and Shepparton Cup.
Female Football Continues to Grow
The growth of the representative program reflects the increasing popularity of football among girls and women throughout the Geelong region.
While female participation across the broader community currently sits at around one-third of all players, Football Victoria Geelong continues to work closely with clubs, coaches and partners to create more opportunities for girls to participate and thrive in the game.
Developing Female Leaders
The growth of female football extends beyond participation numbers. Football Victoria Geelong is also committed to increasing opportunities for women in coaching and leadership roles.
