The Geelong Community Cup is an annual pre-season football tournament held in the Geelong region, featuring both men’s and women’s divisions.

Established in 1981 by the Geelong Advertiser newspaper, the men’s comp stands as one of the longest-running cup competitions in Victoria.

The cup brings local, state league and NPL teams together in a battle for bragging rights as the best team in the region.

2025 Edition

The 2025 edition was held from 28 January to 2 February, brilliantly hosted by Corio Soccer Club at Hume Reserve in Bell Park.

The men’s competition included teams such as Geelong SC, Surfcoast FC, Barwon SC, Deakin Ducks, North Geelong Warriors U23s, Corio SC, Geelong Rangers, and Bell Park SC.

The women’s division featured Geelong Galaxy United, Bell Park SC, Geelong Rangers SC, North Geelong Warriors, Barwon SC, and Drysdale SC.

In the men’s final, Surf Coast FC secured their first title by defeating North Geelong Warriors Youth with a score of 5-2.

The women’s final saw North Geelong Warriors triumph over Geelong Galaxy United with a 2-1 victory.

History and past results

Throughout its history, the tournament has been known by various names, including the Geelong Advertiser Cup, Geelong Community Shield, Diversity Cup, Century 21 Cup, Go-for-your-Life Cup, and Morris Finance Cup, before adopting its current title, the Geelong Community Cup.
